Our IPL SHR operates based on the concept of photo thermalisation. This process occurs when light is absorbed by excess melanin (dark pigment) in the skin and haemoglobin (giving blood vessels their red color). A cooling gel is first applied to the skin to ensure safety for your eyes. Then, a smooth glass surface of the hand piece is gently placed on your skin, and light pulses are delivered. The light transforms into heat under the skin, targeting and damaging abnormal dark or red skin cells while keeping the surrounding skin unharmed. The pigment cells naturally move to the skin’s surface and shed off, resulting in a lighter, less noticeable blemish. Over time, red lesions like veins or rosacea will gradually diminish.
